History Project
The project is a living project, we will be continually collecting information and adding it to the database. Once collected, we will add a section to this site where guests can read about the community. Much of this was used in the display in the History Museum in South Bend. We need you to download the information form and return to us. Forms can either be emailed to us at info@italia-michiana.com or dropped off to any of our sponsoring clubs. You can submit forms any time to be part of the website display and archive.
By submitting information, you agree to having it published and displayed. We will not release personal details such as phone numbers, emails, addresses, etc... Make sure to label and add captions to any photographs you submit. Submit as much information as you want. Use extra forms or extra sheets to tell your story. If you are aware of an individual or family that should be included but is not in this area anymore, please feel free to submit a form with as much information about them as you can. Do not worry about duplication of information, we can sort through that.
A second phase of collecting Italian American history involves filming individuals and groups telling their stories. Much of this will be done with the assistance of members of the Italian Studies Program at Notre Dame. The hope is we can eventually produce a video documentary.
